ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jaga Jundt
Jaga Jundt’s practice grows from a curiosity about materials and the freedom to experiment. She is drawn to texture — its rawness, its layers and its unexpected combinations. Working on canvas, paper or chipboard, she lets the material itself suggest a direction. Painting, collage, sculpture, pastels and sketches are equally open possibilities: the medium follows whatever moves her in the moment.
Since moving to the coast, nature has become a particularly strong source of inspiration. There she finds a profound sense of peace and room for new ideas. A branch lifted from the water can become the beginning of a sculpture; a found form can spark her next piece. Jaga follows inspiration freely, without being bound to a single technique or material.
“I have a great passion for the nude… I believe the human body is the most outstanding creation, giving me space for varied interpretation, admiration and understanding. My inspiration has always been Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, but at the same time every person fascinates me, regardless of age, sex or body type.”Jaga Jundt
“There are hidden secrets behind each body, its experiences, passions, feelings… This is what I try to see in each one of them and transfer onto canvas.”Jaga Jundt
